We usually see ‘heart-warming’ stories that keep going viral in times of crisis and deaths – that of Hindu men helping bury a Muslim person’s body or Muslim men helping perform the last rites of a Hindu person.
The latest story to emerge in the current coronavirus crisis in Uttar Pradesh is that a Muslim Man Mohammed Yunus performing last rites of his Hindu friend Anubhav Sharma from Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh. A picture of Yunus standing near the funeral of Anubhav has been widely shared on social media by soo many fake news peddlers.
Former news anchor Abhisar Sharma post went viral on Facebook that has been shared more than 35000 times. Fake news Peddler Abhisar Sharma, who has often been caught spreading false information, wrote on Facebook in Hindi Language, “Mohammed Yunus performed the last rites of Anubhav Sharma in Muzaffarnagar. The day you understand the hypocrisy of religion, the wall of sand will collapse…”. Here is the screenshot of his twitter post:-
According to the Swarajmag’s Editor Swati Goel, She had a conversation with the brother of Anubhav Sharma, where he claimed that, this is a false news, started by a Hindi Newspaper ‘Amar Ujala’.

Sharad Sharma, the brother of Anubhav Sharma revealed that the family is extremely pained by the fake baseless allegations that the family refused to perform the last rites of Anubhav. He said that, all their family members, relatives and neighbors had performed Anubhav’s last rites as per Hindu rituals. Since Md Younis is a friend of Anubhav and known to the family, he came with us and was present during the last rites. As everyone was asked to offer a fistful of ‘raal’ to the pyre as per custom, Md Younis did too, as a mark of solidarity for a friend.
